Hi there. I am Zoltan Ratko, a designer from Budapest, Hungary.
I have been into graphics and design since my childhood. Back in the days, my teachers advised me to attend a fine arts school, but I chose architecture – I did not regret this decision as I drew extremely lot at nights which allowed me to develop my skills extensively. During this time, I had the opportunity to gain deeper knowledge about the materials used in the construction industry.
After finishing my studies, I worked with natural stones, marbles and granites, but at the same time, I was interested in computer graphics. At first, I participated in magazine editing, created advertisements and corporate designs. For a few years now, I make my own graphics and designs.
In my family, many professionals worked and still work with natural materials for example with stone and wood. Among my relatives, you can find stonemasons, sculptors and for example my father worked as a wood pattern maker. My admiration of stone, wood, concrete, different metals and other materials used in architecture and interior design originates from this family tradition. I love different materials, textures, various geometric and abstract forms and effects.
I am grateful that I can do what I love the most.
Thanks for stopping by.
